Health Idol 6.2: Personality Counts
The top 10 competed in the jump rope coordination challenge for the second half of round 6. Last year, Phoebe Leong triumphed in this challenge with 192 jumps while with a fever. She was very fortunate to have this as the next challenge because she won again doing 329 jumps, taking her out of the red! Two other contestants did over 200 jumps, Sara Falls (208 this year, 160 last year) and Rebecca Choi (206 this year, 156 last year). This guaranteed Falls a continued stay at the #1 spot! Joining her in the top four were Matt Indelicato, Audra Horridge, and Greg Jew.

The Emergency Room came as a shock to most. Alex Mogannam, who maintained a lead in the competition for the entire first half, was in the bottom half. Our brawn award winner, Daniel Jahangard also finally dropped his game and moved from the top four to the bottom three. Andre Taylor did not make it out of the red and was the next to be elminated despite performing better than the other two in this round's competitions. The other two are completely tied, so today they will compete specifically against each other in a battle of the mind. Which of our two Idol favorites will stay? Find out next week!

49th San Francisco International Film Festival
The season of cinema is upon us once again! The 49th San Francisco International Film Festival will be taking place April 20-May 4, 2006, and our Schools at the Festival educational outreach program will offer Bay Area school groups a wide range of films specially selected for various school curricula and age groups. Over the last 15 years, thousands of Bay Area students have attended Festival film screenings through this program, and have interacted with filmmakers from around the world. Screenings for elementary, middle and high school groups will be supplemented by special visits to classrooms by filmmakers whose work is being shown at the Festival. Study guides will also be provided for select films to enhance classroom follow up discussions.

A fun and meaningful forum for education, understanding and awareness, Schools at the Festival introduces students to the art of filmmaking and celebrates both the differences and the shared values of the many cultural groups that make up our community. The program aims to broaden insights into other cultures and the world around us, enhance foreign language aptitude, develop skills for critical analysis, and to inspire a lifelong appreciation of cinema. We hope you and your students will be able to join us for this annual celebration of film.

In keeping with the San Francisco Film Society’s ongoing commitment to educational outreach, teachers and students enjoy a significant discount on Festival admission. All those participating in the program are eligible for a $2.50 ticket rate for Schools at the Festival screenings. Tickets for the program are available exclusively to Bay Area educators and students and may be purchased only through the Schools at the Festival office (contact Keith Zwölfer at 415.561.5040, schools@sffs.org). Schools at the Festival tickets cannot be purchased through the regular Festival box office. Filmmaker visits are free and can be requested based on availability.

The full Schools at the Festival program is available online at www.sffs.org including ticket information, just click on Education.
